Centinel Spine recently announced an enhancement to the laser marking on our prodisc C SK and prodisc C Nova implants. As of February 2025, prodisc C SK and prodisc C Nova implants featuring two additional “UP” laser marks on the superior implant endplate were introduced into circulation.
These new laser marks will complement the existing “UP” laser mark on the anterior face of the superior implant endplate. This update is in response to feedback from our field team, who requested a more efficient method for identifying the proper orientation of a prodisc C SK or prodisc C Nova implant once loaded onto the Introducer Tip.
Please note, this modification does not apply to prodisc C Vivo or prodisc C implants.

What This Change Means for You
Moving forward, the prodisc C SK and prodisc C Nova implant banks will contain a mix of implants, some with the updated “UP” laser marks and others without. Unfortunately, there will be no straightforward way to distinguish between them before opening the packaging. Therefore, please continue to follow the current surgical technique steps to ensure proper orientation of the implant prior to insertion, as outlined below. For detailed guidance, refer to the prodisc C SK and the prodisc C Nova Surgical Technique Guides.
Align the “UP” etching on the Introducer with the superior endplate without the polyethylene inlay.

Before inserting, ensure the polyethylene inlay core is on the inferior endplate and “UP” markings on the inserter are oriented cranially.
