Centinel Spine recently released its latest patient education video, focused on father, husband, Mayor, and prodisc L recipient Sam Couvillon.
As the Mayor of Gainesville, GA, Sam was constantly on the go and a regular at the local Crossfit gym, but a slow and steady progression of pain in his lower back pain eventually left him in a debilitated state. With conservative treatments providing diminishing returns, eventually Sam knew he needed a new approach—so when his surgeon, Dr. Betsy Grunch, recommended he undergo lumbar total disc replacement (LTDR) with prodisc® L, Sam was ready to go.
Sam had his LTDR procedure in December of 2023 and is back to working out, dancing, spending time with his wife and kids, and—most importantly—back to being himself.
"I feel like I've got a new lease on life, and I just want to be patient and try to enjoy it as best I can."
-Sam Couvillon, Mayor of Gainesville, GA and prodisc L Recipient
Hear from Sam about his journey from a pain-diminished husband and father to newly-invigorated man about town in this short video—featuring discussion with Dr. Grunch on the particulars of Sam's case.
