The newly released Case Report #3 of our Match-the-Disc Case Report Series is from Neurosurgeon Dr. Derrick Dupre, of NeuRepair Brain & Spine in Trinity, FL.
Dr. Dupre’s patient is a 50-year-old female medical biller with neck pain, pain across the shoulder blades, pain into the arm with occasional numbness and tingling, and frequent headaches.
In assessing the patient, the Florida spine surgeon noted that the patient presented with moderate central canal stenosis, severe left foraminal stenosis, and moderate right foraminal stenosis. Initially, prodisc C was considered—however, the decision was made to switch from prodisc C to prodisc C Vivo.
The heart of the case report centers on Dr. Dupre’s decision process to select prodisc C Vivo for the procedure. “[Selecting prodisc C Vivo] provides me with an opportunity to decrease OR time and improve safety, as well as lower potential infection risks due to shorter cases and fewer passages into and out of the surgical field.” He continues, “Reducing the number of times passing instruments in and out of the surgical field—past the carotid sheath, bridging blood vessels, the esophagus, and other soft tissue—potentially decreases the likelihood of injury.”
This case report is available on the Centinel Spine Mobile Hub (go to Product Solutions > prodisc C Vivo > Case Support Materials), as well as the Centinel Spine Med+ medical education website at:

Don't forget to share the report with your surgeons as they consider disc replacement options for their next patient.
